- Neu-Isenburg Stadtgrenze – Historical Forest Railway building
Neu-Isenburg Stadtgrenze has its own story and also my personal story. As I wrote in my last post, this was my first visit to Hessen, and in addition, it was part of my business trip. I had to find a hotel with good connections to Frankfurt City Centre; it is not always an easy task, so I ended up at a hotel in Neu-Isenburg. This interesting station was the only place where I changed from a bus within the city to a tram to Frankfurt.
My story is less important when compared to the story of Neu-Isenburg Stadtgrenze (City border). It is connected to the industrial development era in Germany and the so-called Waldbahn (Forest Railway). The line opened in 1889 with steam locomotives and has been electric since 1929. The building has been part of this line since its inception and remains so to this day. If you are near Frankfurt, you can take Tram Line 17 to visit this place.
