Taking the opportunity to visit a book author meeting about a book written by my friend, I toured the City Library in Piekary Śląskie. Although it was not my first time in this city, it was my first time in the City Library. I was impressed by this place, as you can see in the gallery—there were many things to see and two rooms for meetings. The space is very well designed for events and for visitors who do not live there. Very useful. Of course, above the meeting rooms, there are areas with books, computer stations, and special rooms for children. A nice place for residents.
A little bit about the book: It is a biography of Madam Marie Skłodowska-Curie written from her journey’s perspective. It has about 800 pages and includes a lot of source materials and photos. The book is new and currently written in Polish only. A lot of work has been done to bring it to this level. Personally, I am keeping my fingers crossed for further development of the book, and I hope for English and French versions in the future.
